First Place - The River or Gene Rudnick |

Victoria Williams got confused about what she wanted to do when she grew up and instead of applying for admission to an MFA program, she went to law school. After several years as a trial attorney she quit, and now spends her time doing what she loves best. Her short stories have appeared in The Springhill Review and in The Season of Light, an anthology. Victoria received a BA from the University of Utah and a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law. In addition to spending her days writing, she works as an assistant managing editor at Narrative Magazine, an online literary magazine based in San Francisco. Now that their four children are grown, she and her husband travel, but spend much of their time in Scottsdale, Arizona, Kansas City, Missouri and the San Francisco Bay area, the place where her heart stays no matter where she travels. |

Michelle Singh I'm a graduate of the University of Birmingham in the UK, where I read for an English Literature and Language degree. In 2000 I won the Audrey Pipe Fellowship literary award for young writers, and went on to have several pieces of my work published in a variety of anthologies. I live in London with my partner and I work as a media editor in the City. I am studying part-time for an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck University, and enjoy the course immensely. I am currently planning to move to the countryside with my partner, to continue working on my novel - as much as I can before our first baby is born later on this year! |
